STOCKHOLM (AFP) May 23, 2003 - The Swedish aeronautics group Saab said Friday it had signed a 450-million-kronor (49.1-million-euro, 57-million-US dollar) contract with the Australian army to provide an anti-aircraft defense system. Saab Systems Pty, a Saab subsidiary based in Adelaide, Australia, had received an order for a portable RBS 70 surface-to-air missile system that targets low-flying aircraft. Saab said the contract was part of a larger deal that also includes the US defense firm Lockheed Martin.
