Dear Ffriends Lindis Percy was required to answer to 'police' bail at Scarborough Police Station on Saturday 14 December 2002. She was charged with allegedly breaching the warning (s.69 'aggravated trespass Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994) which was said to have been issued by a Ministry of Defence Police Agency officer at Fylingdales on 7 September 2002. Lindis was attending the regular Quaker Meeting for Worship at Fylingdales on 2 November 2002 and was arrested for breaching bail conditions imposed earlier (she had made strenuous efforts to get the bail conditions varied so that she could 'lawfully'attend ). The bail conditions were imposed after she had been charged on 7 September 2002 for alleged 'criminal damage' to a byelaw sign. She was trying to bring the issue of the invalid byelaws to court so that the validity of the byelaws could be tested. Lindis (with 14 other Ffriends) were gathered for the Quaker Meeting for Worship on the grass verge outside the approach road to Fylingdales - a place that has been regularly used for Meeting for Worship for about 2 years. Despite the further charge none of the other Ffriends present at the Meeting for Worship were informed that they were 'trespassing' on MOD land. Lindis was due in court yesterday (16 December) but did not attend - instead she entered her plea of 'not guilty' by letter.
