Two airmen sentenced for drug convictions
Stars and Stripes, European edition

Two airmen from RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom, were sentenced this week after they were convicted on drug charges in separate courts-martial.

Airman Aja C. Lloyd was sentenced to a bad-conduct discharge and confinement for 75 days. She had pleaded not guilty to two counts of wrongful use of controlled substances and one count of making a false statement. She was found guilty on all three counts.

Airman 1st Class Matthew Mulray pleaded guilty to wrongful use of controlled substances and was given a bad-conduct discharge, sentenced to four months’ confinement, and reduced in grade to E-1. Mulray had pleaded not guilty to wrongful distribution of controlled substances, but those charges were dropped.

This week’s convictions make a dozen airmen convicted since an investigation at RAF Lakenheath was announced in October. That investigation, which was touted as a series of investigations, involved 27 airmen, ranging in age from 19 to 30, in the 48th Fighter Wing.

Many were suspected of using, possessing or distributing controlled substances.
