What a dangerous and crazy world is being created by those who make major decisions about our lives - from the American Missile Defense system, the hegemony of the US, the pending war on Iraq for example..... to the US plans for open-ended war on terrorism and pre-emptive nuclear strikes.

CAAB has campaigned in many different ways for years for a world free of weapons of mass destruction, for the halting of the US dominant march round the world and the accountability of US bases specifically in the UK - but linking also with other groups round the world.

Together we must bring about change by demanding of governments that this is NOT DONE IN OUR NAME.  The New Year bodes fearful things.  It seems now even more appropriate and necessary to take steps of peaceful civil disobedience to stop this madness - democracy is failing us.

We will continue to do all we can during the coming year  to make that difference to bring about change - so ensuring that the long road to a world that is a safer world; a just and fair world; a world free from weapons of mass destruction and the American Missile Defense system, and the pending war against Iraq, is brought about.

There are alternatives to change other than by violent means - along the civilised path of  diplomacy, cooperation, the law and political change. The other way is not the way.
